(Gen 2:1 KJV) Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
It is interesting to note here, that the heavens is plural and the earth is singular - what does it mean?
(Deu 10:14 KJV) Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
Is heaven a physical location, a logical boundary in space and time or a state of being?
In an external sense heaven refers to the sky and the stars and all the host of things beyond our vision.
In a logical sense heaven is wherever we draw the mental line on the space around us, so heaven extends from the earth to the edge of the galaxy. Yet we now know that the Galaxy is not the end of space or the heavens. Logically therefore, the heavens stretch out to infinity and beyond.
In an internal sense heaven is that state of being where you become ‘spaced out’, i.e.: losing the constraints of being, in the ‘freedom’ of the moment. This gives rise to the descriptive language of “heavenly” when communicating about sensually liberating experiences.
As always the semantics of human words and knowledge fall short of the reality of Life. Without ‘life’ there is no external sense with which to perceive the sky and the stars. There is no logical mind to rationalise over the scope of heaven and there is no internal sense of ‘being’ from which to be liberated.
(Psa 115:16 KJV) The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Whether we like it or not, we live on a tiny ball of dust or ‘earth’ suspended in the ‘heavens’. Like any tiny ball of dust, the earth is subject to the forces within it, the forces on it and most significantly, by the forces that surround it. The earth is surrounded and therefore ruled mostly by heaven, which is subject to the perfect (just) will or way of God.
The “heaven of heavens”, is the heart of heaven, the heart of infinity and eternity. Since God is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. It is logical to assume that the heart evolves before the body, since a body cannot survive without a heart, therefore the heart rules life, unless overruled by the fleshly senses and the sinful mind.
(Mat 19:21 KJV) Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Treasure in heaven is not ‘gold in the sky’, it is an investment in the future, an investment in an eternity of peace - which is impossible on earth with the prevailing human ignorance, fear and greed. (aka: sin).
The Kingdom of heaven is extended whenever the heart, spirit and will of God has dominion, in you.
(Luke 17:21 KJV) Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
