(Job 11:7-8 KJV) Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
According to Strongs Dictionary - in Hebrew “Hell” is 7585. she'owl, sheh-ole'; or she'ol, sheh-ole'; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), includ. its accessories and inmates:--grave, hell, pit.
Current thinking is that the earth is 5,150-6,360km deep to its inner core. So far we’ve (that is, the Russians) only managed to drill 12.262 km way down… therefore much of our deeper thinking is pure speculation…
“The inner core of the earth is the hottest part of the earth and is around 760 miles in radius. It is believed to consist of an iron-nickel alloy, and may have a temperature similar to the sun’s surface, approximately 5778 K (5505 °C). The outer core is so hot that the metal is always molten, but the inner core pressures are so great that it cannot melt, even though temperatures there reach 6700ºF (3700ºC). As the earth rotates, the outer core spins around the inner core and that causes the earth's magnetism. Life on earth would not be possible if we did not have this magnetic field that surrounds us and is produced in the centre of the earth.”
Without doubt Hell exists below us and being consumed by earth’s inner furnace would be very unpleasant.
Quite how this mass of molten fire and energy is suspended under our feet is somewhat of a mystery, since the earths mantle somehow magically floats upon its surface along with the oceans which cover two thirds in water.
Though physicists may speculate on how all this works, whatever the mechanism - Even with all our technology and understanding of the elements - who on earth.. could replicate such an unthinkable perpetual core of fire, retained in a mantle of earth and water?
Having acknowledged that ‘Hell’ is below us and that the earth is just a thin crust that rather tenuously floats over this abysmal furnace like the winter ice on a pond, then is there any real danger that the world and its sinners could be heading for hell, in summer?
Since so many, many good people have died along the way… and been buried in the earth or cremated, one has to wonder about the significance of hell in the scheme of things.
It seems to me that by not conforming to the pattern of heaven (the way of the prophets and Jesus) humankind through ignorance, fear and greed will undoubtedly consume critical resources of the earth and damage the natural cycles that maintain this fragile crust… after which all hell will break loose.
Is it really enough for a good person to have inscribed on his grave, “He warned us… we applauded, but chose not to act”?
(Mat 23:29-33 KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
