(Exo 12:10-11 KJV) And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.
One of the great pleasures of life, is eating, quite why we need to eat and why God didn’t create beings that do not need to eat is beyond me, except to the extent that any creature independent of other life is in danger of becoming a demi-god.
So to keep us humbled before our creator, we are all kept dependent and if we don’t comply, we starve to death.
Our eating habits are bound by time and place, most people tend to eat at least 3 times a day between sunrise and midday, between midday and sunset and between sunset and midnight… breakfast, lunch and supper…. This is more likely to be a consequence of social structures and work patterns. Likewise, the places where we eat are dependent on where we are likely to be at any time… either at home, work or elsewhere in transition.
At home and at work, we can only eat what we have in our store cupboards, our lunch boxes, our garden plots and our fridges.
Naturally and transitionally, we can only eat what grows or inhabits those areas where we live, those areas that we visit or those areas that we pass over.
Eating at home and at work, requires planning, acquisition of food, preservation, preparation, an appetite and post meal cleaning…
Eating out, requires only an appetite and acquisition of food...
There is a faith and freedom in “eating out”, that cannot be had in “eating in”
(Mat 11:18-19 KJV) For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
