(Gen 1:31 KJV)  And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

There is no doubt that everything God made is good, the earth, the moon, sun and stars and the capability to live and bear witness to existence is miracle enough for most of us to step back in humility, awe and wonder.

So now that you have life, what are you supposed to do with this precious gift?

Seems to me that there are really only 4 activities that any creature can perform, regardless of whether they feel positive or negative about it:

1.Creation (addition & multiplication) - growth, reproduction & birth
2.Observation (passive & preparatory) - watching & waiting.
3.Maintenance (division) - alignment & reparation
4.Destruction (subtraction) - deterioration and death

Three of these activities bring natural change and the fourth is passive or preparatory. There is however a fifth process that is peculiar to humanity and brings major change:

5.Manipulation (planning & construction)

(Gen 11:9 KJV)  Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

One assumes that the building of ‘Babel’ was not considered a ‘good’ thing - why?

When one looks at all the things that humanity has ‘constructed’ from what God has created - one has to seriously question the value of it….

What has man constructed that compares to a flower, an ant or a child?

Most human constructions are firstly ‘dead works’, secondly ‘imperfect’ and lastly they are constructed from the de-construction of other elements, usually at the expense of the living and always at the expense of the earth’s natural God given resources.

What has man ever constructed that was truly ‘good’?

For every ‘good’ to be had from human construction there is an equal and often greater ‘evil’ effect to the environment, the natural earth and life.

In human terms ‘good’ - really means ‘good for you’ or ‘your tribe’, it doesn’t necessarily mean ‘good for life’ or ‘good for God’….

Human ‘goodness’ is entirely self centric and consequently from the greater good (God) perspective, mostly ‘evil’.

(Mat 7:18-20 KJV)
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
