(Exo 4:12 KJV) Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
Before the educational reforms of the United Kingdom during the late 1800’s, most children were forced to work in factories and mines… yet going back before the Industrial revolution most children were generally ‘uneducated’ and living an agricultural existence with their families learning the necessary farming and practical skills from their parents and siblings.
So what exactly is education and why has it become the domain of organisations and governments and not parents?
An aboriginal child living in the bush needs an education in the local plants and animals, the local geography, the local weather, the seasons and the best ways to acquire food in a sustainable way. Most of this knowledge is acquired by being naturally involved with these things on a day to day basis, with more insight given respectfully by elders.
Many invading ‘educated’ Europeans died in Australia, because they didn’t know how to live or love the native flora and fauna, despite years of schooling, it was all unknown. Education is useless if it does not help us live in our local environment. To solve this dilemma, the invading Europeans began to change the local Australian environment into a replica of the one they had left, so that their education became relevant and bush education became unnecessary…. Is this education or the beginnings of annihilation?
So often in life when faced with something new, we have three options - we can embrace and learn about it, ignore it or attack it. The former is an enlightened approach, the latter two are the ignorant and evil approaches.
As a child growing up in England, I didn’t enjoy school, it took me away from the things I loved, my family, my friends and the countryside. Everyone told me it was for my benefit, but to be forced to sit for hours on an end at a small wooden desk and being forced to listen to elderly men and women teaching lessons about things that had no relevance to my life was a challenge to say the least. What I did learn was that educational institutions tend to operate from an agenda and most books are written with a bias. The ultimate object of the British system of education was to normalize our behaviour, such that we all believed the same thing… much like Nazism its primary aim was a national unity through sophisticated brain washing techniques toward a common world view and all challengers were punished and all failures to comply were disqualified.
When I became an adult and had children of my own, I panicked when it was time for my children to go to school… it was compulsory and I felt inadequate to offer any kind of world education at home… we migrated from England to Australia in 1984 and our first son started school in 1986… he had never really experienced anything but our love and for the first time at school he was educated into racism… a group of boys had been calling him “Shit face” (my wife came from the Caribbean). He was also mocked for his good manners and for referring to his penis as a ‘penis’ and not as his willy, nob or cock… and so my son proceeded to become educated by the system. Surely... the goal of education should be enlightenment in love and truth for life. Education of a thief or a pig for knowledge alone, will only make them better thieves and more acquisitive, much like lawyers who learn legal loopholes and the rich, who learn how to profit from the poor.
(Mat 23:15 KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
