(Num 14:11 KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?
Though belief and faith are intrinsically related, they are not the same.
Belief is a mental quality that accepts or rejects something as either true or false. In other words if you mentally accept something to be true, then you believe. If you mentally cannot accept something to be true, then you do not believe. Belief is the gateway to the human mind and consists of a filter which has 3 main states either: mental acceptance, indifference or rejection…. All based on prior experiences and education. As we grow through life, this has become an automatic process. We are conditioned (programmed) to accept, ignore and reject, it has become a survival mechanism and determines our level of intellectual trust.
Faith is a spiritual quality that connects or disconnects one thing from another. Faith is the gateway to the human spirit and consists of a filter which has 3 main states… either: love, apathy or lust. All based on the state of the heart and modified by belief. Such that all connections either cause a connection that flows outward, remains in stasis or flows inward.
Faith that flows outward is generous and loving, faith that doesn’t flow is apathetic, while faith that flows inward is fearful and grasping
This flow is a measure of our passion, we can be either passionately positive (giving) or passionately negative (consuming) or like most; be ruled by circumstances in our lives and ride the spectrum of faith whenever we feel like it.
To emphasise the importance of understanding the difference between ‘belief’ and ‘faith’ consider Radio… In 1855, less than 160 years ago, no-one would have believed such a thing could exist. Today we take ‘Marconi’ for granted and would mock unbelievers. However, believing in radio is not the same as turning on the radio and tuning into the radio station… this takes active faith, connection and flow. The flow is “one way” from the transmitter to the receiver… and most people are still just ‘loving’ to consume (take).
The same is true of God (aka: love) - God is like a spiritual transmitter, that we may or may not believe in. However, whether we believe or not, is irrelevant to God. The Bible doesn’t request that we believe in God, only that we LOVE God.Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
"Faith" is just a word used to describe the intrinsic "energy" that drives all existence, life, growth and evolution, it is the substance of eternal "love". Through right belief, it is possible to activate our faith and receive from God… Greater still when we lose our lusts and apathy to become enlightened by the active love within an uncluttered heart, it is possible through positive faith to let our love flow outward also... Loving inductance is the foundation of the miraculous inherent in all humanity…. through the power of God (love)…. All ‘faithful and true’ sons are made in the image and likeness of God (Our Father)….. NOT just ‘Jesus’…. however, he did try to show us the way!
(Mat 17:19-20 KJV) Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
