(Isa 2:4 KJV) And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
It seems that ever since “Cain slew Abel” - the human race has been at war…
We fight to elevate ourselves, to gain power and land, but ultimately, we fight to impose our will over another person, family, tribe, nation, species and we even fight the very nature that wrought our existence…. What the ‘hell’ is wrong with us?
Looking back through human history you will find it littered with billions upon billions of men, women and children who have been the bloodied victims of too many worldwide wars… many dragged into battle simply to defend themselves against foreign invasion from imposing armies, often just - killing their neighbours and stealing their land.
One day you could be living in perfect peace in your island paradise, when suddenly you find yourselves ‘discovered’ and part of your conquerors history books, written in their language from their ‘glorious’ and victorious perspective. You welcome them or oppose them with sticks and stones and are cut down by industrial blades, bullets, explosives and ultimately weapons of mass destruction…. Your island paradise is ruined and your tribe, your family and you, are dead, dirt, dust....... and your story, is undocumented.
WAR… who is it good for? Those who stand to gain pride, power, land and control for themselves, their family, their tribe, their nation, their species and their ‘evil’ nature.
Winning a war does not prove that you are ‘right’ or that your values are superior, it just proves that you are more prepared, more determined and most times just more evil… War is for bullies…. with horns.
Conquerors - ‘steal’ kingdoms, but what of the ‘great’ - Darius the Persian, Alexander the great Macedonian, Octavius the Roman, Attila the Hun, Mohammed the Arabian, Napolean the Frenchman, Queen Victoria of the British Empire and wannabes like Hitler the German… All DEAD and their ‘kingdoms’ have lasted as long as their rules are imposed upon the people and the land…. often with an iron rod.
One cannot overcome evil ‘in battle’ with good. Inflicting greater casualties until the enemy gives in or is wiped out, is this ‘good’? It contradicts a key ‘Godly’ command - “though shalt not kill”. Bloody wars are fought for lack of faith (delusion, ignorance, fear & greed). Jesus fought peaceably for justice and liberation not with exploitation for oppression.
So in a military stale mate and in apocalyptic fear, we see a shift to corporate wars where nations no longer storm your island paradise with soldiers, but takeover by stealth and productivity (often exploiting child labour and technology). Corporations - ‘buy’ kingdoms, such that you are bought slowly, like a frog enjoying the plentiful warm water, without realizing that you, your family and tribe are being sold alive by your own purchases from the local store, which thanks to the global economy and e-commerce, can no longer exploit suppliers or you. And so, you can now sell your soul e-directly to foreign investors.
(Mat 24:6 KJV) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
