(Gen 1:1 KJV) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Imagine, if you will, a magnificent painting, full of vibrancy, colour and detail. Now imagine analyzing this magnificent painting and extracting the base colours in an attempt to grasp the significance and source of this work of art and you begin to understand the human dilemma.
Reducing the “Mona Lisa” to a palete of colours, totally misses the work of art, the truth and the beauty.
It is delusory to think that we can understand life, its purpose and its author, by reducing our reality to a periodic palette of base elements and chemistry.
Any attempt to grasp the nature of our reality through mental reductionism (knowledge) whether religious or scientific is doomed to failure because it relies upon limited sensual perception, destructive divisionism and the ignorance of the day.
Our perceived reality is confined to our senses, the ‘light’, movement and potential differences captured by our eyes; the ‘sound’, movement and potential differences captured by our ears; the ‘gaseous smells’ which enter our nasal passages; the ‘liquidous tastes’ that reach our tongue; the ‘matter’ that we can grasp with our hands and the ‘potent energies’ that we can feel around us…
Our greater part is the consciousness that perceives and processes these so called ‘sensual realities’… yet this consciousness like so many other very important aspects of our reality is invisible, intangible and imperceptible… the nature of reality… is spiritual.
Examining the ‘star dust’ of our reality, we find a world of magical and mysterious electro-magnetic balancing acts of ‘sub-particles of matter’, movement and potent energy… the deeper we delve into the sensual symptoms the more intangible becomes the cause.
To reduce the magnificence of this living tapestry and our capability of perception to a causeless explosion in the infinity of space is more outrageous than proposing that the ‘Mona Lisa’ was a causeless association of particles of paint.
Without some kind of activating force, there would be no explosion, no movement, no energy, no matter, no sun, no universe… no life…. nothing.
So…. what is the activating force underlying all existence and this living work of art?
Is it nuclear fission, ‘God’ or ‘Tao’?
The former is a destructive belief that denies human accountability to a greater good and challenges natural laws, while the latter are constructive beliefs that encourage human accountability to a greater good and adherence to universal law and order.
Humanity is like the ‘eye’ in the ‘Mona Lisa’, it has value only as long as it remains integrated with the whole… if the eye explodes across the face, humanity becomes blind and all the truth and beauty around us becomes a painful ugly mess.
(Rom 8:22 KJV) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
THE NATURE OF REALITY
