(Gen 4:9-12 KJV)
And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

There are few, if any animals (other than man) that kill for any purpose other than for eating that which is killed.

There was no ‘good’ reason for Cain to kill his brother Abel, it was certainly not an act of hunger or salvation for lifes sake or an act of love. It was an act of willful emotio-mental aberration known as ‘jealousy’.  If this was a structural aberration, such as a deformed limb chances are that life and its survival mechanism for perfection would have dealt with Cain, but it was not, it was a behavioural aberration - hidden from view and in danger of being passed on to Cain’s offspring.

Much scientific research has been undertaken on the inheritance of structural attributes in both plants and animals, but little is known about the inheritance of behaviour, because it is impossible to see and document behaviour patterns in a DNA chemical structure.

Yet, behaviour and attitude are somehow inherited automatically along with structure.

Each creature behaves according to its design. Once flying, young eagles swoop and kill with their talons they do not pick fruit. Young ducks, dapple for food they do not attack water rats. Most species die before they deviate and deviations are often disastrous.

Many insects are constrained to one or a few food plants, Koalas eat only certain types of gum leaves… feeding them on a human emotio-mental determined alternative will usually make them sick unto death.

So, if Cain had killed and eaten his brother Abel - would this have been more acceptable?

Hardly, it is not the killing or eating that is right or wrong, it is the self serving ‘willful’ and ‘emotio-mental’ aberration (sin) of acting in a way that is disconnected from life and God.

Even at the microscopic cellular level we see in our own blood that “the body is more than food”… our white blood cells kill and eat invading bacteria, do they do this out of hunger for food or do they do this out of duty (aka: love and faithful obedience to life)?

There is nothing wrong with any living organism doing what it was designed to do, there is only a problem with deviation from its inherent nature, because this is destructive to the overall living system… like cancer.  It adds no value, worse still, it devalues life.

Why do animals in confined spaces with limited resources eat their own offspring? And why don’t starving animals and birds turn on humanity and gorge themselves on our flesh while we sleep?

Is it because they are starving and will eat anything or is it because they live in accordance to some greater natural law over life?

(Acts 10:13-15 KJV)
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
